Ashford Estate Wedding

Ever since working at the venue last spring, we’ve been eagerly awaiting another Ashford Estate wedding. From the regal charm of the bridal suite, to the towering ceilings and windowed walls of the ballroom, to the stunning grounds with endless portrait opportunities – The Ashford Estate is all around breathtaking. Even better, we knew from Kelly and Roman’s engagement session how they are not only photogenic, but also have lovely style; it was safe to assume their wedding day would be a beautiful one.

When we checked the weather forecast, we were honestly filled with disbelief. Somehow, we’ve had rain at some point in the day for the past seven weddings! If we’re going by superstitions, that’s a lot of good luck for our couples. But when you want to capture some glowing sun backlighting a dreamy outdoor setting, it feels more like bad luck. We were hoping and praying for good weather, despite the forecast saying 90% chance of storms. We didn’t even lose hope when the electricity went out during details! And we were right not to, because the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and we were able to take every single portrait outdoors. I think a Hallelujah is warranted!!

There were so many details we loved about this day, like how Kelly wore the same perfume that she had on the day Roman proposed, how what seemed like fields-worth of florals included my favorite flower (anemones), Kelly’s extravagantly beautiful getting ready robe, and how wildly energetic the dance floor was!
